Who we are
The Teach to Transfer app is operated by Teach to Transfer. We are the data controller for the personal information described here.
What we collect and why
- Parent account details (email address, sign-in details) — to create and secure your account. Legal basis: contract.
- Learning progress (child's first name or nickname, year group, answers, scores, stars, badges, settings) — to provide the app and adapt questions. Legal basis: contract.
- Purchase records (which stages you own, order reference) — to give you access to what you bought. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation.
- Technical data (device type, IP address, error logs) — to keep the app secure and working. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
We do not sell personal data or show advertising. Please use a first name or nickname for your child, not a full name.
Who we share it with
- Service providers who host the app, store data and run AI question writing (no personal data is sent to write questions).
- Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, which handles payments, tax, invoicing and refunds. Paddle collects payment details directly.
- Professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires it.
International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses to protect it.
How long we keep it
We keep account and progress data while your account is open. Purchase records are kept as long as the law requires. Data is deleted or anonymised when no longer needed.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or move your data, object to processing, or withdraw consent. We reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and per-account data separation so each family can only see its own information.
Cookies and storage
We only use essential browser storage to keep you signed in and save progress and settings on your device. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
